Legal
Privacy Policy
Last updated: 19 August 2026
This policy describes how Law Per Se (“we”, “us”) handles information when you use lawperse.com and related services (the “Service”). It is written for an Indian legal-practice product. It is not legal advice.
1. Who this applies to
It applies to advocates, associates, and legal teams who create an account, and to anyone who visits the public website. Case files you upload belong to your practice; we process them to provide the tools you request.
2. Information we collect
- Account: name, email, phone, password (stored hashed), enrolment number if you provide it, and subscription or trial status.
- Case work: case names, documents you upload, drafts and opinions you generate, and related metadata (file size, category, timestamps).
- Usage: feature use (for example petition generations, search, chat, OCR) so we can operate limits and improve reliability.
- Technical: IP address, browser type, and basic logs needed to keep the Service secure.
We do not scrape your case files into a public research corpus. Judgment research uses our separate authorities index, not your private uploads.
3. How we use it
- To create and secure your account, and to provide drafting, research, opinion, chat, OCR, and organiser features.
- To isolate documents and generations to the case you select.
- To operate billing, trials, and support when you write to us.
- To detect abuse, debug failures, and meet legal obligations.
Generative features send relevant extracts of your inputs to our model provider solely to return a result for that request. We do not use your case files to train a public model.
4. Legal basis (India)
We process personal data to perform the contract for the Service you request, for legitimate operational interests (security, service quality), and where the law requires it. Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you may request access, correction, or erasure of personal data we hold, subject to legal retention duties.
5. Sharing
We use infrastructure and AI processors to run the Service (hosting, database, model inference). They process data on our instructions. We do not sell personal or case data. We may disclose information if required by Indian law or a competent authority, or to protect the Service from abuse.
6. Retention
Account and case materials stay until you delete them or close the account, unless we must keep records for dispute, billing, or legal compliance. Server logs are kept only as long as needed for security and operations.
7. Security
Access is authenticated. Case work is scoped to your account. Transmission uses HTTPS. No internet service is perfectly secure; you remain responsible for account credentials and for what you choose to upload.
8. Your choices
- Update profile details in the app.
- Delete documents or cases you no longer need.
- Email hello@lawperse.com to request access, correction, or deletion of personal data.
9. Children
The Service is for legal professionals. It is not directed at children.
10. Changes
We may update this policy. The date at the top will change. Material changes will be posted on this page.
